Sydney buyers are spoilt for choice and short on time. With thousands of listings live at any moment, the photos decide which homes make the shortlist and which get scrolled past. Whether you're selling a harbourside apartment, a family home in the Hills or a terrace in the inner west, professional real estate photography is the most important marketing decision in the campaign.
This guide is for Sydney agents and property managers. It covers how to photograph the city's very different property types, which add-ons suit which listings, and how to prepare a home so the shoot goes smoothly.
Sydney is really several property markets in one. UberRE covers the whole metro area, from Hornsby in the north to Engadine in the south and out to Blacktown in the west, plus the full coastline. Across that area an agent might list a high-rise apartment with water views, a federation home on a leafy street, a new build on a larger block or a beachside home where lifestyle is the main selling point. Each needs a different shot list.
Apartment buyers want to understand layout, light and outlook. The photos should show how the living area flows to the balcony and what can be seen from it. Window-blended photography keeps interiors bright while the view stays visible, rather than turning every window white. A floor plan is essential: buyers comparing several apartments in the same building or suburb use it to check the size of bedrooms and living areas.
Terraces are often narrow and long, which makes them tricky to photograph well. Careful composition shows how the rooms connect, while detail shots highlight the period features buyers pay for: ceilings, fireplaces, timber floors and courtyards. A floor plan helps buyers understand layouts that can be hard to read from photos alone.
Family buyers want space, a backyard and a good location. Wide shots of the main living areas, the kitchen and the outdoor entertaining space carry the listing. A drone aerial shows the size of the block, the backyard and the pool, and how close the home is to parks, schools and transport. Boundaries and labels can be added so buyers see exactly what the land includes.
When the water is the reason a home is worth what it is, the marketing should prove it. Aerial photos show the home's position relative to the harbour, a beach or a waterway. An Aerial 360 panorama lets buyers spin around and see the full outlook and surroundings. Twilight images, with interior lights glowing against a dusk sky, are often the strongest lead image for this type of property.
Parts of Sydney sit in controlled airspace, including areas around the airports. That means drone work needs proper planning. UberRE's pilots are CASA certified, and they check airspace and plan each flight before the shoot. We schedule drone shoots for low wind and strong sunlight, which gives clean aerials with good colour.
Drone aerials start from $180 + GST per photo, and Aerial 360 panoramas from $240 + GST.
Every UberRE shoot starts with professional photography from $280 + GST, which includes 8 edited photos ready within 24 hours of the shoot. Then add what the listing needs:
